    Hex Lag Screws, also called Lag Bolts, are substantial hex head screws that are perfect for attaching metal to wood in situations where you are not able to use a nut (ie. installing a flat panel TV mount to your wall). These screws are extremely durable, high-quality screws and can support a much heavier load than a typical wood or sheet metal screw.  To install these screws, you will need to predrill the hole beforehand to avoid to avoid splitting the wood beam due to the larger size of the screw.
